CRYPTOPSY Drummer Launches DIGITAL DOOMZDAY Project
December 2, 2010DIGITAL DOOMZDAY is a mix of hardcore rap and metal dealing with the extremes of everyday realities that some choose to address and some ignore. Lyrical topics include drugs, sex, religion, global mutilation, government cover-ups, aliens, self-destruction or is it self-preservation? You decide.
Main voice and lyric writer Roman Corkery (THE ROMAN EMPIRE) has a unique rap-based vocal style that ranges from hardcore to death with a twist of hip-hop. He lets you have it straight up with a no-bullshit approach by way of apocalyptic storytelling, intelligent lyrics, humor and wit.
Guitarist, main music writer and backup vocalist Rob Doherty (ex-INTO ETERNITY, PERICARDIUM) sees it the same, laying down solid heavy grooving riffs that aren't sugar-coated, just straight-up in your face and to the point, always focusing on the song and not just the shred.
Drummer Flo Mounier (CRYPTOPSY) creates a dynamic solid driving rhythm and keeps the band in total synch. He unloads some killer double bass, creative fills, neck-breaking beats and yes for you fans of Flo he does give you some of his devastating blast attack, all the while never abusing the integrity of the song.
For its debut recording, DIGITAL DOOMZDAY tapped Daniel Nargang (ex-INTO ETERNITY, current KICK AXE vocalist) to lay bass tracks and hold down the bottom end. His unique approach and classical musical background breathes life into the lower end registers of the recording.
DIGITAL DOOMZDAY's full-length debut is expected in early 2011.
